If you would like to serve on a board, are already on a board, or work with a board, you're in the right place. Video for the second half of the Let's Talk on How to Get on a Board. We didn't record the introductions or the breakout groups. A special thank you to Lisa Shallett from Extraordinary Women on Boards for being our special guest.
During this talk, we discussed issues relating to service as directors, including the combinations of skills and experiences that boards are seeking, how to best position yourself for nonprofit or for-profit board candidacy, resources available to help you identify and take advantage of both paid and volunteer board opportunities, what it’s like to serve as a director on a board, and issues particular to women on boards.

And this week's special guest Lisa Shallet, Founder of Extraordinary Women on Boards.
Please add any resources, opportunities for Board Seats (both Corporate and Non-Profit) down below in the comment section! Goooooo!
Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed Lisa's session, thanks for putting it together Lan!
I fully agree with Lisa that it's all about who you know and that board positions generally work through referrals. However, I wanted to share a template for a 'Board Resume' that I got from a workshop I participated in previously with 'Women on Boards', a UK-Australian networking group.
Not sure if this resume format is fully relevant for US Board positions. However I think it gives insights about what to think about when defining the relevant areas of competence for a potential Board role.
Him For Her is another organization focused on diversifying the boardroom. Nominate yourself or board-ready women in your network!
